Raising an injured baby chick alone ?

There was a clutch of five all brooded by the mother hen. One took a day longer to hatch than the others and is smaller and weaker by comparison (but still healthy). Yesterday, the other chicks began picking at him. From the base of his head and down the back of his neck is raw and fuzzless. We didn't think he'd make it if we left him with the others, so we removed him to a tank. He is very distraught. My question is, will it be safe to move him back with his siblings and mom once he is healed in a few weeks? Or will they be likely to reject him? Will this chick develope the social skills needed to be with other chickens later? Fyi the chick is about three weeks old now and is being kept company by a mirror in his enclosure.

I know this is long, but please bear with me. I'm almost 17 and am admittedly socially awkward... or rather just really shy (whichever way you want to put it). This guy (let's just call him John) is the first person to ever really flirt with me. He's also the first to ask me out. Despite warning him of our arival beforehand, he was playing with his friends when we showed up, then made us wait while he got ready. Took almost 30 minutes. John's grades are horrible, he doesn't know what to do with his life, and he's... not necessarily the biggest gentleman on the planet. The date was rather awkward for the most part, I actually talked more than him (THATS a feat). We paid for our own stuff (he's poor too, so I paid for his snack). During the movie, he held my hand, kept kissing my cheek, put his arm around my shoulder (kept 'accidently' touching my boob [appologized later on]), and he kept calling me beautiful; that if he ever hit me, he'd kill himself; that he was lucky to be dating an upper-classman... and that his friends were jealous. I didn't say anything, but tried playing along (again, I'm VERY shy). After the movie, he saw me talking to my sister (she's the one who brought us). John couldn't hear us, but my sister really dislikes him- says that I could do much better. I'm really not sure about the whole thing, after all I KNOW that it isn't going to last forever. Anyway, the ride back was silent. He didn't say a word when we dropped him off (even after I said I'd call him tomorrow). John seemed to be brooding on the way back to his home- he probably guessed what my sis and I were talking about. He left me a voicemail a little while ago saying it was alright if I broke up with him... sounded depressed. I've got a soft heart, and I feel sorry for him since he's probably got a ruff home-life... I kinda want to try again and see what happens. Still not sure if I really care for him that way, though. There's a catch next time though (if there's one): my sister refused to be the one to give us a ride. I like to bite myself all the time. I am careful not to make a permanent mark. I saw twilight and thought it would be interesting. I am not stupid. I don't think I'm a vampire . My mother is constantly calling herself "momma" to my baby?

I think your mom is being insensitive, but whether it's intentional or not, you're the best judge of that. You know whether there are issues below this. If it were my mom, I'd know it were just excitement, but I've known families where the power struggle reaches back generations and keeps on giving, so to speak. It'll be the same pattern in two generations as it was for the grandparents. Some people do make mistakes like this unintentionally. My dad would always call me by my three older sisters names and then get around to mine. I've been known to call the dog when I mean my child. Ugh. talk about embarrassing. But I don't do it on purpose. Either your mom was so used to talking to her babies like that, that she still just does that, or she is doing it to get under your skin. Could be either. I would simply talk to her about this when your baby is taking a nap. If she is understanding and wants to change, there's your answer. If she brushes aside your feelings and keeps it up, then you know what that means. I definitely wouldn't let her continue to do this. But I don't think you can assume anything until you've talked to her and then you decide how to handle it from there.

Alright, I have been brooding over this for a some weeks now and need some insight. I went to a small party with some friends, only like 10 of us there, and I had my eye on a very cute guy the entire night. We ended up sleeping next to each other, no naughty business at all. Today I went to a swim invite for like 4 or 5 hours and there was a 2 hour rain delay (so it started at 10:45) then it got BLAZING hot….The meet ended around 2….When i got home, I noticed my chest was all red and there were strap lines from my swim suit. Basically everywhere on the internet there are stupid captions, phrases and words that look like they were written by someone who learnt English as their tenth language. Eg: mai, teh, wurk, heer, cyoot, moar, cheezburger, onleh, capshun etc and also using words such as "has" instead of "have" ie "I has cheezburger". Apparently they started off from genuine spelling mistakes, but a lot of them look too retarded to have been mistakes, so are they meant to look "cyoot" or something?

Is it legal to keep a Brown-Headed Cowbird as a pet?

I was watching a bird's nest for a while, there was an American Goldfinch and a Brown-Headed Cowbird in the nest. This nest was a result of brood parasitism, from the Cowbird. The two birds hatched and I began observing them. Already there was a HUGE size difference between the two babies. Anyways, three days after they hatched, and went to go check on them. The nest was empty (and destroyed). On the ground was the two baby birds. I immediately took the baby birds inside, and put them in my brooder/incubator. The Cowbird was eating perfectly and growing. The American Goldfinch was not healthy. Before I could take him to a rehabber, he died (two days after I took him in). Now I have been handfeeding the cowbird for almost a week, and starting to wean him. I am experienced bird keeper... So he is in the best of care. I have some other birds, and they are now bonded with him as well! I am just wondering, is it legal to keep a Brown-Headed Cowbird as a pet (because of the brood parasitism, many people are prejudiced against them... and even kill them! Is the gov't more lenient about permits with these birds?) If I needed a permit, in Canada, which one would I get? Thanks in advance!

A while ago my friend said he'd help me with soccer one on one. I had a crush on him and figured it be a great opportunity to try to get him interested and talk to him more. Is Mad Men overrated?

I've tried watching this show, but it feels like a triumph of style over substance. It is gorgeous to look at, but there's hardly any plot to speak of, just lots of people smoking and staring off into space all emo, brooding about the terrible ennui of their easy, pampered lives. They toss in some social oddities of the 1960s at random and there's some mildly entertaining banter from time to time but that doesn't save a show that doesn't go anywhere... I just don't understand the hype.

What to do? Dumped horses?

ok so my lil cousin's dad picked up 2 horses that were dumped one is a blind wild mustang the other an aproximate 12-14+ arab/quarterhorse both are mares and by the muscle toning and jus overall appearance and the way they act have not been ridden in a long time. My cousin has about a weeks worth of expierence with horses to my 12yrs and wont listen to my advice. He thinks that he can pay for 2 weeks of training for the arab/qh and just be able to slap a saddle on and ride....but i know that he will probably get hurt if not killed. He has no experience and no background of what the horses were used for.. one probably used as a brood mare! What do i do? i dont want him getting hurt but it seems like the only way for him to learn his lesson is to let him make his own mistakes. Yet it just pisses me off that he wont even work with them himself hes jus going to let someone else do it for him. And for the moment im the one taking care of them on my land with my feed and water, and he wont even be around to work with them! What do i do?!

So I bought a savannah monitor it wasn't doing well then I traded him for a super healthy tame chinese water dragon which I am selling with everything for 120dollars and the guy I am selling it to is offering me 20 dollars extra for everything since he is on vacation, so I get 140 bucks. You should talk to a therapist. No really, you need some advice and someone to talk to. I was bored when I left college too. I don't talk to anyone much anymore from school or college. I have the same issue. Except I am not totally done with college, just couldn't afford to finish. I know it's hard in the Chemistry field, but you could always look for work being a Pharmacy Technician in the meantime. Or look for medical assisting jobs. My therapist told me about OR training. Operating room training. You travel around assisting the docs with medical supplies. I'm thinking about doing that, until I can do more for myself. It takes only a year to be able to do it. I feel bad that you went to school for that amount of time and still can't get a job. Or if you can get a job doing something else, you could get hired somewhere that doesn't require a specific degree. Don't give up. You'll find something.

Drugs like that affect people in different ways, but what you're describing is fairly common from what I've witnessed. Memory issues and emotional outbursts are among the top problems, but they won't just affect you while you're taking the drugs. The effects seem to be long-term from what I've seen. If they bother your senses, judgement, and the ability to lead your life normally, then I suggest you quit. I personally had to quit for much of the same. I suffer a brain disorder which severely effected how the drug worked on my body, and needless to say it was never enjoyable to me. So ask yourself, to the positive outcome you feel you get outweigh the sometimes debilitating negative reactions you have?

New fear of cantering!?

okay so I am leasing this horse, he has a tendency to rush off at a canter so I always get a bit nervous before I ask him. But I brought my friend to watch me ride today and let's say it was not pretty. She kept making kiss noises (as if to ask for a canter) when I was trotting, this freaked him out and he started cantering really fast. I managed to get him to stop and then I walked for a few minutes and asked again (on purpose this time) and he rushed off and ran strait for a jump (I can't jump they were just in the arena) and steered him away but I felt like a was going to fall so I grabbed the horn and I was saying walk but he didn't listen and he ran me into a wall. It was amazing I stayed on and it for me really shaken up. So I trotted like normal for the rest of the time. Then I tried cantering inside (he is more hyper outside and I feel more comfortable in a small arena) and he did it but he kept stopping I was really hesitant to ask again because of the fear on him rushing off again. So I decided to end the ride on a good note and just did sown trotting figure eights. How can I get over my fear in a safe way? And get him to stop rushing off? I have a lesson tuesday but I would like to work on cantering again tomorrow. Now this is really strange that I developed this fear because last week I was fearless, cantering around and everything was going great , this week has been down hill severly. I feel like I have lost all the confidence I have gained, and I am back to where I was 6 months ago. Please help! Tips? Thanks!

Do insect's eyes maintain their color after they die?

I am trying to preserve a female cicada (from Brood XIX) in resin. I only had her for a few hours before she died and I have been keeping her in a tupperware container in the fridge since then (only a day and a half), but I noticed that her eye color has almost completely faded from bright orange to dull orangy brown. I read somewhere that the fridge would help preserve the color, but it doesn't seem to be working. I was wondering, is it even possible to maintain a life-like eye color after an insect dies? Or is there maybe a way to bring it back (i.e. injecting with water or something)? I really hate to put her in the resin looking like this, she was much prettier alive...I would have preferred to keep her that way, but now I can only do my best to preserve her original vibrance.

I know Starcraft doesn't play too well with 64-bit, since I upgrade to 64 bit, and the odd colors happened to me as well. As for the small screen, had that happen to me as well, years ago on an old laptop. Updated the drivers, and it fixed screen size, unfortunately that doesn't seem the same for you. I guess call Blizzard tech support and see if they can help you.

2008 Ford Focus ac not getting cold but does blow air normally and heater works?

I have a 2008 ford focus and just replaced the battery about 3 wks ago (don't know if that matters or not) started the car about 3 days ago and air does not get cold..now that's in the blazing heat..i waited until night time and turned it on and noticed 2 vents get a tad cold and the other ones are warm air. I checked the coolant and it is full..i have no idea on where the frion is in the car so im not sure about that but since 2 vents are getting a little cold i figured that might be ok. How can I stay cool while golfing?

I am 13 and today I played 18 holes starting at like 8:30. I started really well until I got around the 6th hole. I started to double bogey every hole. I realized I had a headache and the sun was blazing down. I started to lose my focus and started to pick the wrong clubs for my shots ( 170 yard shot I would use a 5 iron but I picked a 6 iron) When we made the turn I got an ice water but I still had a terrible headache. I drank all the water after the first 1 1/2 holes on the back 9 but I still had a headache. On the 3rd hole I completely fell apart and I skipped that hole and while the rest of my group was putting I put ice on my face from what little ice was left from the ice water and I lost my headache right away so I could focus on my game and I played how I should of played the whole day for 2 1/2 holes (When my ice supply ran out) And I played pretty bad for my last 3 holes. Usually on the course I play on I shoot low to mid 80s and no higher than 88 but I shot 92 today. I am wondering how I can stay cool like I did for 2 1/2 holes today. I met my current bf online. I lived in the US states and he lived in PR. I always traveled over there each year for months at a time and so it was convenient to know someone who i can hang out with. What started as friendship ended up in a relationship. He really showed that he liked me, spending all the time he could talking to me and even when he had no phone or internet he would do the impossible to contact me. I met him face to face and we hit it off, I stayed in his house for a month, but we had been talking about 5 months prior to us meeting. I really liked this relationship and decided to make it work, committing myself to travel for months at a time each year and stay with him. At the time he was losing his job and my parents fearing that they would lose me invited him to come live with us. He was so inlove with me and decided to take the offer. He left everything he had, his apartment, his family, his friends, his car etc When we started living together he became extremely jealous, to the point that i literally could not take a dump alone. The time passed and things changed. Our relationship hit some rocky roads but all was okay at the end. He showed me he loved me most sincerely as did I. But then things changed along the road. This is where im gettin at, since he felt all he wanted to go to PR for a week for Christmas and new years to see his fam. I understood that he missed his family but he NEVER addressed why he wasnt taking me, which made me understand that he didnt want me to go. Since then i started mistrusting him, cuz if he didnt want me to go there must have been a reason. He met all my family and I only met the person who he considers his 2nd mom (his actual mom passed away) but I havent met the rest of his family. From then on things got a little rocky. Anyways so ever since we got together he cut off all his female friends and so i did the same with my male friends. But then i dk out of the blue he decided to look for them, because he said "he wasnt married" So i notice that hes talking to girls and he thinks im not jealous, cuz before this i never had a reason to mistrust him. I get suspicious and put a tracker on my computer which he uses, I discover that he planned to leave me. Later, he discovers what I did but i deny it till the end. When i discover I see that he talks to one more than the other and for extensive amounts of time (texting). So I start flipping out. I called the girl who just had a bf and asked why was she talking to my man so much. She told me that HE was the one that looks for her, which is true because i verified it online. We fight and he promises me that he will not talk to her or any other female. So i let it be, but i still remain insecure. Things get rocky again between us and as i keep tabs on him i discover that he broke his promise, i confront him he says he wont choose me over his friends and I throw him outta my room. We argue and then finally we make up. Then I keep having tabs on him to see if he talkes to the same girl that I dislike and that we had troubles for after I told him to stop he said hewouldnt. Then yesterday I discovered that he started talking to her on the phone which blazed me. I decided to no longer stand for this. I confronted him and told him how his actions were affecting me (making me depressed, stressed and angry) i asked if he was still talkin to her he said yes. I am 13 and today I played 18 holes starting at like 8:30. I started really well until I got around the 6th hole. I started to double bogey every hole. I realized I had a headache and the sun was blazing down. I started to lose my focus and started to pick the wrong clubs for my shots ( 170 yard shot I would use a 5 iron but I picked a 6 iron) When we made the turn I got an ice water but I still had a terrible headache. I drank all the water after the first 1 1/2 holes on the back 9 but I still had a headache. On the 3rd hole I completely fell apart and I skipped that hole and while the rest of my group was putting I put ice on my face from what little ice was left from the ice water and I lost my headache right away so I could focus on my game and I played how I should of played the whole day for 2 1/2 holes (When my ice supply ran out) And I played pretty bad for my last 3 holes. Usually on the course I play on I shoot low to mid 80s and no higher than 88 but I shot 92 today. I am wondering how I can stay cool like I did for 2 1/2 holes today. I have a golf tournament on the 28th so I need some tips on how to stay cool (other than drinking water because I drink plenty of it) Throughout the day. Also would a hat help me stay cooled because I don't wear one but I can.

How would you feel if your boyfriend lived in a house with 3 other women?

My boyfriend is moving away and although it is financially and physically possible for him to live on his own or somewhere else, he is choosing rent a room in a house with 3 other women... women that he doesn't know and neither do I. I know he would never cheat on me and his purpose for moving to where he did is for work. He is there for over a year. He knows that this is absolutely killing me that he is living with only women in a fairly small house. He also knows that I would do anything right now to be able to move in with him and start our lives together. So I am naturally very jealous that he gets to have his first experience living on his own with 3 women neither of us knows. my mom & I got into a fight at my aunts house, my mom threw a shoe at me and it hit the TV. Her Tv frame got a dent in it the corner of her huge flat screen tv. My mom ended up paying for it & we apologized. We thought it would be the end of the story because it was a huge embarrassment. But later my aunt claimed i wrote a quote on my FB status that was directed to her, in which i swear to god it had no refrence to my aunt. My aunt was just trying to make the situation bigger than it was, I tried explaining to my aunt. I sent her a text to clear up the stupid rumor, said some nice things: i love u, never would i try to blow this whole thing out of porportion, that quote wasn't directed to anyone, all i want is peace etc. Around this same time my mom had already paid my aunt 1,000 dollars for the TV. But my aunt never told my mom she had already got it fixed for 100 dollars. So my aunts mother called my mom to tell her to come get the 1,000 dollars back. Mind u my mom called my aunt to apologize like so many times, I even tried getting her attention with the text. And it return my aunt just straight up ignored my mom and I. Now this happened in april, and now tonight my Aunt FINALLLYY sends my mom a text and says hey theres this party tonight and that they are having a party at her house tomorrow night and that we should come(becuz my mom and her are party buddy's). BUT my mom and her never cleared the air, and never got to talk things out. So is it fair, that after you done something wrong and pay for damages when she already got it fixed and could not even call to say: don't worry, just pay for the damages which is just 100 dollars. when my mom sent 1,000.(though we got the money back cuz of my aunts mom) is it still right for you to call and call and call to reach out to someone and apologize and they just sit there and ignore on purpose. THEN months later out of no where invites you to a party? Would you reply back to the msg.? would you go to the party?...... My mom is not going to reply back, becuz she feels that they need to talk woman to woman like they should have done from the start instead of the problem playing out for all these months. We live in Los Angeles, own our home, the neighbors keep blowing their dirt and leaves into our property using a blowing machine, this happened right now!! I went outside and told them that when they blow their trash to our property they are blowing it into our washing machine and dryer, the husband says they don't do it that often but i said his wife does especially when I aint home she goes crazy with the blower trying to blow everything in site to our property even when she sweeps she sweeps the dirt to us, i don't understand why she just doesn't get a dust pan and throw it away, my husband says they are doing it on purpose but whats weird is because we don't have problems with the neighbors until now..can i take legal action?

Why do girls put their hair across their upper lip?

You seem very confident in your partner and that's a good thing.
